Fate essay
My essay is going to be about fate in the famous Romeo and Juliet play by William Shakespeare. There is a lot of fate in the play. Fate means that your life is decided for you and regardless what happens in your life and what decisions you make your fate will decide for you.
In Shakespeare’s play Romeo has handed his destiny to God. Romeo says “thee hath has steerage of my course, direct my sail”. This quote shows us that Romeo is asking God to direct his life and his fate. He uses a metaphor to compare his life to a boat but he isn’t the captain anymore.
Another example is when Friar Lawrence’s good intentions in agreeing to marry Romeo and Juliet turn out badly. He believed that the marriage would end the strife between the families, however, he did it in such a secret way that it turned their fate and it ended in tragedy, and this is what he said(Go wisely and slowly. Those who rush stumble and fall) meaning that he is telling him to be careful.
It’s not always Romeo whose life is affected by fate. Most of the characters in this story have some form of fate. Just like Rome and Juliet
The fate was his death and when the bad news was told that Juliet was dead, Romeo said “I defy you stars” meaning that he’s blaming God for Juliet’s death.
Fate affects Juliet too. When Romeo kills Tybalt who was Juliet’s cousin, Romeo has been banished and had to live somewhere else. Juliet misses Romeo and comes with a plan to get him back
- Co-incidence: Bumps into the servant on the street – who can’t read the invitation lise
- He sees Rosaline in the party
Prologue.
“A pair of star-cross’d lovers take their life”
two pairs of lover how take there lives.
” I fear, too early: for my mind misgives”
meaning that he is worrying that they will get there to early and meaning that the party will tune rotten
